What a way to end a fabulous series, I loved this one so much and getting to see Lady Charlotte Hastings, Charlie go after the man of her dreams and wishes this one was a page turner of a book, I found it very hard to put down, Amy Rose Bennett you have ticked all of the boxes in this story, it has everything that a reader wants in a beautiful historical romance.
Charlie is the last of the disreputable debutants to find her rake and now she is in more trouble thanks to a rotten cad of a man and it looks like another scandal is sure to ruin her forever more, she has to take drastic measures to get her property back, this then brings her to Maximillian, the Duke of Exmoor, her brother’s best friend in a very risqué situation.
Max Devereux is shocked to find Lady Charlotte in a place like this and dressed the way she is, but when he finds out how much danger she is in he will do anything he can to help her, it is his duty to do so but he must be careful to keep his eye on the task and not on Charlie because Max does not do love and finding a wife is out of the question. When another scandal erupts Max as a gentleman steps up and offers Charlie a deal to protect her and himself from his mother’s wish to find him a wife, an engagement for the season.
Things don’t always go as planned and as passion and desire like Max has never felt before heat up, their fake engagement is turning into something real and sensual, throw in some enemies who have an agenda of their own and Charlie is in more danger, not just of scandal this time.
MS Bennett has never disappointed me with one of her stories and this one was fantastic, beautifully written so many emotions, there is lots going on as Charlie and Max enjoy a very sensual journey to the HEA they both deserve so much, Charlie is such a great heroine, I loved that what she wants she goes after, she is filled with passion and energy and Max what a hero, protective, loving what can I say. It was fabulous catching up with the other debutantes and their rake husbands, I do highly recommend this book as I do the series, they are a must read.
