I do love a good medieval romance and this one is the best, set in 1416 it tells the story of Lady Lisette and Lord Rowan and their journey to a HEA, these are treacherous times especially for woman and not all men are honourable, will Lisette find that special man?

After the tragic death of her parents Lisette and her younger sister are left in the care of cruel guardian, when she is told that she will be marrying Lord Collins a brutal older man, Lisette is desperate to make sure that she and her sister are safe, a sin she knows but her only hope and then at the last minute she finds that King Henry V has ordered her to marry Lord Rowan the king’s first knight but will she be able convince Rowan the truth of what and why she did what she did, will he ever trust her?

Lord Rowan is a favourite of the king he is a true protector, but for the revenge he wants on the person who killed his parents, he has been hurt by love before and he does not want to marry he keeps his heart closely guarded but when he is ordered to marry Lady Lisette, daughter of his first leader as a knight and a man he respected, he has no choice and she is beautiful but also headstrong, spirited and very independent, she doesn’t like following the rules. But will betrayal change everything.

I loved this story so very much, it is beautifully written, it tells the history of the era so well and the hard times that they went through, Rowan and Lisette come to life on the pages in this sizzling, sensual story of love, tragedy, trust and hope for happiness, they both show vulnerability, strength and courage and I was cheering them one throughout the story. This is one that I would highly recommend to anyone who loves a good romance. I have had this one sitting on my kindle since 2014 and I should have read it a long time ago, three is coming out soon, so I am just about to start book two and I can’t wait.
