A story set over two time lines, 1940 and 1980, a family with many secrets, a mother and daughter who have problems and a woman who wants to uncover the truth, come along and see if you can solve the mystery.
Billie left Australia years ago, there was way too much tension between her and her mother, she has become a gifted criminal journalist in America and never stops till she has the answers, happily married with a teenage son, but that all turns upside down when she loses her husband and her and her son Alex move back to Australia to her parents. Billie is soon offered a job to uncover the truth about Foxborough Hall in Singleton NSW, Billie is very keen to prove herself, but what she discovers will shock her very much.
Hamish Abbott lives next door and is a psychology professor and he takes a big interest in Billie and her son Alex, he can feel the tension between mother and daughter and when Billie goes to Foxborough Hall and does not return the search is on for Billie.
Billie seems to be losing her grip on reality, seeing things from the past, things that happened to the two daughters of Foxborough Hall Wilhelmina and Gertrude, both just vanished during the 1940’s, what truly happened to them and why is there such a close connection between them and Billie?
I thoroughly enjoyed this one, a different story, both settings 1940 and 1980 were well done, this is a story that I do highly recommend, there are a few twists and turns, but the ending is just right.
