Scotsman Rory Sunderland has arrived in Birmingham to visit with his cousin William, Marquess of Fenton, Rory is a newly –minted engineer and he is excited and eager to start work hopefully with on one of the fabulous new steam engines and with the help of his cousin he is soon at Muffutt’s Tinware this business is run by Mr. Muffut and his daughter Carolyn Muffat, they are impressed with Rory and agree to let him start immediately as they have plans underway for new tinware, this will start a new journey for Rory and one that just may involve a romance as well.
Carolyn is drawn to Rory and it appears that Rory is drawn to Carolyn but a rocky road is a head of them with a couple of hiccups thrown their way, firstly religion you see Rory s Catholic and there is no way Mr. Muffut will allow his daughter to step out with a catholic and then it appears that there may be a little sabotage in the works in the manufactory but Rory and Carolyn show their skills with investigating but danger will come their way, will Rory be able to save the day and win Carolyn and change her father’s views in the process?
This is such a fabulous short quick, witty and lovely story, we have met the Muffuts in a previous series from Elizabeth Leydin and I always loved Carolyn and I loved Rory as well the perfect hero for her. If you are looking for a romance that is short read that has a little bit of everything then this is the one to pick up, I do highly recommend it, I loved it.
My thanks to the author for my digital copy to read and review.
