It has been a while since we have been back with the Strathmore family and I loved being with them, this time we get to see Maggie Radley find the love that she deserves so much after being hurt so badly, Captain Piers Denford arrives to help her with some research and what they find is love, this is a fabulous story, I do hope that you come and join Maggie and Piers.
Maggie has been grieving for two years now having lost her fiancé Robert at Waterloo and she is determined to make sure that he is not forgotten, but most of her letters to the war department go unanswered until the very abrupt and rude one she receives, this makes her even more determined and she arrives at the house of guards and makes herself known to the writer of said letter. Meeting Captain Denford has her on a course of finding the truth about Robert and it also sees Maggie come back to life in such a good way.
Captain Piers Denford is the son of a Viscount and being in the army is not what he wants but there are forces holding him there unfairly he feels, when Maggie Radley marches into his office this now gives him a chance to get out in the open and help her find out the secrets behind her fiancé, it also sees Piers open up his heart to this beautiful and strong minded woman.
I loved this story so much, it took Maggie a bit of time before finally trusted Piers and some more time before could finally get him to open up about his past and as they travel the countryside looking for answers their hearts open to each other in a gorgeous sensual romance that had me cheering them one. Two people who were able to leave the past behind and have the best HEA. I loved Maggie’s strength and caring ways and Piers is the best hero always thinking of others he has a heart of gold. This is a story that I would highly recommend even though it is part of a series it can easily be read as a standalone.
My thanks to the author for my digital copy to read and review.
